Every commission begins with a gesture.

gestuo is a curated marketplace where art enthusiasts commission original work from vetted artists. Digital downloads, fine-art prints, or one-of-a-kind pieces — all produced by hand, never by machine.

Curated Artists

Meet a few of our artists

Every artist on gestuo is personally vetted. We don't list everyone — only those we'd commission ourselves.

Why gestuo

Built differently, on purpose

Curated, not crowded

We accept fewer than 1 in 10 artist applicants. Every artist on gestuo has been personally reviewed for craft, professionalism, and reliability.

Fair economics for artists

Artists keep 90% of every commission. Our 10% covers payments, messaging, dispute resolution, and the platform that brings collectors to your door.

Made by hand, every time

No AI-generated artwork. Every piece on gestuo is conceived and created by a human artist. We use AI to help you brief them — they do the rest.

What commissioning with gestuo feels like

The AI preview gave me confidence to commission something far bolder than I would have dared alone. The final piece exceeded the preview.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

Who actually creates the artwork?

Every piece is made by a human artist we have personally vetted. AI helps you communicate what you want — it never generates the final artwork.

How does pricing work?

Three tiers: digital concepts from £15, museum-quality prints from £40, and original commissioned pieces from £150 to £10,000. Artists set their own prices within platform guidelines. You see the full cost upfront, with no hidden fees.

What if I do not like the concept?

Original commissions include up to three revision rounds. If you are still not happy, we offer a full refund — no questions asked. The brief wizard is designed to minimise misalignment in the first place.

How do artists get paid?

Through Stripe Connect, directly to the artist's bank account. We hold the deposit in escrow until you approve the final work, then release it along with the balance. Artists keep 90% of the base price.

How long does a commission take?

Digital concepts: 1–3 days. Prints: 5–10 days including production and shipping. Original commissions: 2–6 weeks depending on medium, size, and revision rounds. Your artist will give you a clear timeline at the start.

What is your refund policy?

Full refund before the concept is uploaded. Partial refund after concept, before delivery. No refund after final artwork has been delivered. Disputes are mediated by our team — we act in good faith on both sides.

Who owns the artwork?

For digital concepts and prints, you receive a personal-use licence. For original commissions, you own the physical work and receive a certificate of provenance. Artists retain the right to use the piece in their portfolio unless you request otherwise.

Can I speak to the artist before committing?

Yes. Once your brief is shared, you can message the artist directly to clarify details, ask about their process, or discuss revisions before any payment is taken.
